EIR OpenOffice Export Filters These filters were developed by John Sigerson primarily in order to convert Lyndon LaRouche's WordPerfect documents into various publication formats. They are optinimized for LaRouche's input style, but they could be further modified for more general use, if that is ever required. WHAT YOU NEED TO INSTALL IN ORDER TO RUN THE EXPORT FILTERS 1. Open Office, which you can download from: 2. Java Runtime Environment (JRE), which you can download from: (There are separate Offline and Online installers available there. I would recommend downloading the Offline version onto your PC and then manually running the installer.) 3. The custom EIR Editorial filters, which you can download from: Unzipping the file will create a folder called "xsl-export-filters", containing 5 files (in addition to these instructions): eir-editorial-unwrapped.xsl eir-editorial-wrapped.xsl eir-briefing-unwrapped.xsl eir-briefing-wrapped.xsl eir-web.xsl The editorial versions convert to EIR Editorial markup. The briefing versions convert into simplified form suitable for inclusion in the Briefing. Paragraphs are separated by extra vertical space. The wrapped versions will produce enough word-wrapping so that the converted file can be directly uploaded into the Alpha without any further manipulation. The eir-web version converts into a special format destined for import into the larouchepac.com content management system for publishing to the web. Move the "xsl-export-filters" folder into some safe place, such as "My Documents". HOW TO INSTALL THE EXPORT FILTERS INTO OPEN OFFICE 1. Start Open Office and create a new empty document. 2.
